CapMan strengthens its Life Science operations in Finland – Yrjö Wichmann appointed as Investment Director

Mr. Yrjö Wichmann (44) has been appointed as Investment Director in CapMan’s Nordic Life Science Business Unit as of 1 October 2003. He has over ten years’ experience from the Finnish life science market. Wichmann transfers to CapMan from FibroGen Europe Corp. where he has acted as CFO. Previously he worked in D.Carnegie AB’s Finland branch as a director in corporate finance, responsible for life science and healthcare sectors.

“On their way to success, emerging Finnish life science companies need alternative funding sources and partners that can also provide and help them with contacts, management resources, business skills and operational advice. I believe that CapMan, as a leading private equity investor in the Nordic area, is able to support emerging companies in a number of ways starting from wide contact network and resource pool to solid operational and management systems. The expansion of CapMan’s life science team to Finland is thus an exciting opportunity for the Finnish life science industry in general and me personally”, says Yrjö Wichmann.

“Yrjö Wichmann has a solid executive experience and a broad network within life science and we are very pleased that he is joining the CapMan life science team. Yrjö will play a key-role in our expansion in Finland,” says Jan Lundahl, who is the Head of CapMan´s Life Science Business Unit. ”During the fall of 2003 we will continue our unit’s expansion also to Denmark,” Lundahl continues.
